Finding your modern style: Saturday September 16 from 9:30 – 4:30 pm. Hosted at Nardin Park United Methodist Church in Farmington Hills; offered through the Michigan Association of Calligraphers. Must have some prior experience with pointed pen and a traditional alphabet (Italic, Copperplate, Spencerian). More information and registration here.

Beginning Copperplate Calligraphy: Ongoing class on Tuesdays from 7:00-9:00 pm, September 26 – November 14 (omit 10/17 and 10/31). Hosted at the Recreation Authority of Roseville and Eastpointe. Students will learn to use a traditional, oblique pen holder and a nib, employing these tools using pressure and no-pressure techniques. The class will move from basics surrounding the tools themselves through strokes, and then into lowercase letterforms and uppercase letterforms. No experience necessary! This writing style is perfect for celebratory invitations, envelopes, announcements, and art pieces for your home.
