It was such an honor to work on the day-of-wedding stationery details for Blair and Max. This special couple hosted a Planterra Conservatory wedding reception after tying the knot at Sainte Anne de Detroit Catholic Church. It was a beautifully elegant day this summer, full of blush, sophisticated florals, the perfectly lush greenhouse venue, and a cameo appearance by their sweet pup. All of my favorite things! Thanks to Jill DeVries for capturing their day so wonderfully.
Before the formalities began, Blair got ready – and every detail looked absolutely stunning.
The Ceremony at Sainte Anne de Detroit Catholic Church
No wonder Max had this reaction as his bride walked down the aisle.
Their ceremony program booklet was simple, tasteful, and elegant. It outlined their VIPs and the order of the Catholic mass and religious rites. I was proud of it, but someone wasn’t amused.
After this couple said “I do,” it was time to begin the festivities for their Planterra Conservatory wedding reception.
Portraits and Cocktail Hour
After the ceremony, Blair and Max took some time for gorgeous bridal portraits, along with their gorgeous wedding party.
Guests gathered for cocktail hour that evening, amid the lush greenhouse beauty throughout Planterra’s open, airy space. I created a large mirror welcome sign for Blair and Max to greet their loved ones. They also commissioned an oversized seating chart on a mirror, for guests to find their seat.
Planterra Conservatory wedding reception menu and tabletop design
Blair’s vision for their tabletops design was classically simple, but elegant. Soft, neutral, blush florals, lots of candles, and gold accents made their day gorgeous.
I designed a simple monogram with their first initials, surrounded by leaves in a circular laurels arrangement. This graced the top of their menu, which was printed with gold foil stamping. This touch of elegance surely made an impact on their guests as they sat down, especially as it paired so beautifully with the gold charger plates and flatware.
Each person’s place was designated with a place card, handwritten in gold calligraphy, in a modern but elegant style.
The Bar Sign… my favorite detail!
Blair and Max’s sweet pup, Lucy, lights up their world. As a self-proclaimed crazy dog mom, I was so excited when they asked to incorporate their four-legged family member into their special day.
They named their signature cocktail after her, calling it “The Lucy.” I painted a watercolor pet portrait of her, as part of the overall design.
This sign was adorable and guests loved it. But even cuter? The real-life Lucy’s cameo appearance!
Thank you to Blair and Max for letting me play a small part in your big day. Your Planterra Conservatory wedding celebration was a beautiful day, fitting of your love!
