Available print methods

Many options to fit your vibe — and your budget

digital/flat
$

Digital printing is your most budget-friendly option. There is no texture created with the printing – it is smooth on the surface of the paper. Used for any multi-color elements (such as watercolor paintings). This print method is created on eggshell paper.

Printed in the USA

letterpress
$$

Letterpress is a centuries-old artisan process. A plate is made with your design, and that’s pressed into the paper with an ink roller. Your invitations have a deep impression and texture with your design. This print method is created on 100% cotton paper.

foil stamping
$$$

Like letterpress, foil stamping is another hand-done process. You’ll get the same gorgeous texture and impression, but instead of colored ink, the imprint is in your chosen metallic (shown here in gold foil). This print method is created on 100% cotton paper.

Printed in metro Detroit

embossing
$$$$

Embossing is created with a “double” plate. Instead of the tactile impression going down into the paper, this method creates a raised texture to the paper. Most commonly offered as an accent element, in tandem with letterpress or foil stamping for legibility.

Timeline

How long does it take?

The total process takes approximately 6-9 weeks from ordering until your invitations are completed, assuming you handle your “homework” in a timely manner.

Order early to secure your space on my production calendar. Your custom timeline will reflect our start date together.

Once we’re ready to start, I’ll send over my tried-and-true wording questionnaire for you to fill out. Using your answers, I’ll create a comprehensive wording draft for you to review.

Each design step takes one week:

1. wording

2. first draft

3. revisions and final proof approval (remaining 50% balance due at this time)

Two rounds of revisions are included, should you need any changes. Please respond within 2 days for on-time production. Additional revisions available, at $75 per round.

You approve the final proof and we’re off to print! Production time varies based on the chosen print method.

Production times listed below, once your final proof approval is submitted:

  • Digital printing: 3 weeks
  • Letterpress or foil stamping: 4 weeks
  •
  • Envelope calligraphy adds 2 weeks to production time after the printing turnaround time.
  •
  • Order ready for in-studio pickup or ships via UPS with insurance (typically 2-7 business days in transit)
