When Christina first reached out about helping with stationery for their upcoming preppy spring wedding, she mentioned she wanted to keep the focus on their love, the natural beauty of the property where they’d say “I do,” and their two golden retrievers. Needless to say, I knew she’d be a dream bride! Hint, I was right. Fast forward and today is their one-year wedding anniversary. Congratulations to Christina and Tristan! Let’s celebrate their milestone by walking down memory lane and taking a look at their beautiful day, captured by Katie Grace Photography.
The Invitation
For this preppy spring wedding, I designed a bright and cheerful invitation with lots of watercolor elements. As the focal point, I included a watercolor crest, featuring their two sweet pups, a monogram, a ribbon banner, and lots of florals. To keep this whimsical aspect in check and to add to the luxe presentation of the whole suite, all the script headings were in a classic calligraphy style, printed with gold foil stamping.
Christina told me she’d be wearing a Hayley Paige gown with striped fabric, so we added in some striped accents, on the response card and envelope liner. The envelopes were a pale blue, finished by hand with calligraphy for the guest addresses in a deep blue ink.
It was a stunner, if I do say so myself.
Bridal Look
Christina’s bridal look was gorgeous! She definitely had a vision for the big day and she was the epitome of classic beauty. Every detail tied in perfectly for their preppy spring wedding.
Tristan looked good, too.
First Look and Wedding Party
Christina and Tristan’s first look was intimate and heartfelt. Their wedding party had a chic, mismatched look that fit together beautifully.
The Ceremony
As is customary at Zingerman’s Cornman Farms, Christina and Tristan’s heartfelt ceremony was held in front of the idyllic white farmhouse. It’s the perfect backdrop for a preppy spring wedding like this.
The Preppy Spring Wedding Reception Details
First up – let’s talk about these dogs for a second. Murphy and Millie. Yes, really. When I asked Christina for a reference photo so I could paint them, she sent me one – and I had to ask if it was from an Orvis or LL Bean catalog. Their dogs are models. So, it was my great joy to paint them – and then put them on lots of fun details for the big day, including their signature drink signage (with each cocktail named for the pups!). But then I got the pictures back… and the dogs made an appearance. This is as cute as it gets, ladies and gentlemen.
But I digress.
The rest of the details at this reception were on point, too. Gorgeous seasonal flowers, vintage china for the place settings, a mirrored seating chart, and an artisanal cake. All said and done, gorgeous from start to finish!
Christina and Tristan, thank you for bringing me on to design your custom wedding stationery. It was a pleasure to work with you, and it’s been such a treat to relive your special day! Happy anniversary – wishing you a lifetime more.
On a separate note, I know I speak for everyone to say “thank you.” As a hospitalist nurse and doctor, these two met working in the ICU and are on the front lines in the midst of this global pandemic. For your service to the community, we appreciate all you do.
