Jillian and Kyle’s traditional ceremony and Detroit Athletic Club wedding reception were nothing short of incredible. Jillian’s lovely mom had initially hired me to complete their invitation calligraphy, and I was thrilled to stay on to assist with all of this amazing couple’s day-of-wedding stationery, too!
The Invitation
I can’t take credit for this gorgeous invitation, as it was designed by the talented team at Scriptura in New Orleans. They knocked it out of the park with this letterpress stunner. It was an honor to add the finishing touch with the envelope calligraphy!
The Welcome Gift
If the invitation sets the tone for the wedding a few months prior to the big day, then the welcome gift makes sure that tone is ringing loud and clear. Yes, that was a bad analogy – yes, I stretched it too far. I’m leaving it. The point is, your guests who have traveled to be there for your life’s milestone are honored and cherished people to you and your families. A welcome gift is one extra way to show them how much it means to you that they came all this way for you!
Jillian and Kyle’s multi-panel folded welcome note included a fully illustrated map of Detroit, with icons marking key wedding venues, as well as special moments in their relationship (ahem, first date). It was such a fun piece to design and I know their guests loved it!
Getting Ready
Jillian and Kyle each looked incredible on their special day. Their getting ready photos are timeless and elegant, and I’d expect nothing else from their talented photographer, Blaine Siesser. Plus, a bride who can rock a pair of leopard stilettos on her wedding day is a goddess in my book!
