Before I even met Hannah, I had the pleasure of connecting with her mom, Nancy. They both are such lovely women with fun senses of humor, tremendous kindness and impeccable style. Hannah wanted her and Bob’s Mackinac Island wedding to be colorful and elegant, in an homage to the island itself. Thanks to planning and coordination from Conradie Event Design, their day at the Grand Hotel was just that. Let’s relive this quintessentially Mackinac Island day, courtesy of Stephanie Baker‘s beautiful photos.
Getting ready
Mackinac Island Wedding Invitations
For Hannah and Bob’s custom save the date and invitations, the island took center stage as inspiration. First up, their save the date featured a line drawing of the hillside landscape you see as you approach the island on the ferry. The invitation was chock-full of bright colors, with a turquoise letterpress script design throughout. Their monogram (HR for Hannah and Robert) had a pop of emerald green and lots of summery florals, gracing the top of their double-thick invitation card. The envelope had emerald green calligraphy. The liner featured a watercolor houndstooth pattern, painted in hot pink shades, to match the ice cream parlor onsite at the Grand Hotel. Everything was tied in a hot pink silk ribbon, with a big bow. Fun, vibrant, and playful — but ultra traditional and elegant.

Classic, timeless, and full of love!

Ceremony
The bride’s family has owned Mackinac Island Carriage Tours for many generations. To honor this family history, the wedding ceremony took place at the Grand Hotel Stables. This was one of the most unique ceremony locations I’ve ever had the chance to be part of, and it was perfect!
Hannah and her dad arrived to the ceremony by private transport, ready for her to walk down the aisle and say “I do.” Afterward, Mackinac Island Carriage Tours provided transportation to the main hotel grounds for the reception.

Grand Hotel Reception
After Hannah and Bob were married, guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the porch at the Grand Hotel, followed by a tented reception. Upon entering the tent, each guest’s escort card was a hand-calligraphed gift tag, adorning a box of fudge. Does it get any more perfect than that for a Mackinac Island wedding?!
The Grand Hotel team’s florals were as perfect as ever, feeling like an elegant secret garden throughout the tent. Hannah and Bob used their monogram and had custom embroidered napkins made to adorn the tables. The bow on their cake was reminiscent of the fabulous bow on Hannah’s Carolina Herrera gown. No detail went unnoticed.
Event branding means these details are thoughtful and intentional, from start to finish. Let’s make sure your day reflects your uniqueness.
