I was introduced to Cecelia by a mutual friend (and one of her bridesmaids), sweet Staci. I’m so glad she put us in touch, and I was even more thrilled to have the chance to work with Cecelia and her mom on the custom invitation for her wedding celebration to Kegan. There were tons of purple and pink florals on both the invitation suite and at the event, where they celebrated at Oakland Hills Country Club. Everything tied together beautifully and cohesively from start to finish – that’s the goal!
The Invitation
From our very first meeting, Cecelia told me that their day would be filled with abundant purple and pink florals and she wanted the paper goods to fit in seamlessly with the rest of the day. I knew from the outset that we were a good match! Any bride with that kind of thoughtfulness is someone I’m excited to partner with.
To accomplish her vision, all the elements included hand-painted watercolor purple and pink florals, which would be reminiscent of the actual blooms on the big day. To go with this, we used purple writing for the block text throughout the invitation (why do black ink if you can do something fun?). On her main card, we added in rose gold foil stamping for the headings, done in calligraphy, to kick things up a notch.
The whole suite was enclosed in a lavender envelope, lined with a dark purple envelope liner. That pop of contrast really made for some extra oomph! Top it off with rose gold envelope addressing in calligraphy and you’ve got yourself a recipe for a “wow-worthy” envelope for your loved ones.
Prepping for the big moment
Cecelia and her girls all looked so amazing, even as they got ready for the big day! I love that her mom dressed to match the color theme for the day – that pop of color is amazing for such a gorgeous mother of the bride.
Ceremony
Cecelia and Kegan tied the knot at Holy Name Catholic Church in Birmingham, Michigan with a traditional Catholic mass. Their ceremony program booklet matched their invitation (of course), and welcomed guests to the beautiful church.

This gang looked good, y’all!
The Oakland Hills Country Club Reception
Cecelia and Kegan’s formal reception at Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan was filled to the brim with purple and pink florals – and an overabundance of joy!
To welcome guests, handpainted watercolor and calligraphy escort cards guided each person to her seat. At the tables, the table numbers were also hand-painted in watercolor. The menu at each person’s seat had the same purple and pink florals from the invitation suite. Each guest received a light up glow bracelet – complete with Cecelia and Kegan’s names and florals!
The couple danced the night away in celebration – just as it should be.
